Stepping Up to Serve: Federal Pro Bono Representation
Rescheduled for May 17, 2019
the Western District of Washington Federal Bar Association, Pro Bono Committee
Free Half Day CLE!
(1 Ethics and 3 General CLE Credits)
Interested in serving the community this year through a pro bono case? This CLE will give you the tools to take it on! The program will feature an overview of the most common types of cases where pro bono representation is needed in Federal Court, including employment and civil rights cases in and out of prison; practice tips from Western District Judges, law clerks, and pro bono attorneys; and concrete client counseling skills mindful of implicit and explicit bias.
The Western District of Washington needs your help with pro bono cases! Frequently these cases have survived summary judgment which means volunteers can get actual trial experience while helping plaintiffs who cannot afford representation. Even if you are newer to practice you can serve and this CLE will give you the training and confidence to do it.
