Social Security Appeals Practice in the Ninth Circuit and the Western District of Washington

Please join us for the annual CLE Seminar sponsored by the Western District of Washington’s Social Security Committee. This year’s program will be hosted by the Hon. Benjamin H. Settle, U.S. District Court Judge and Chair of the W.D. of Washington Social Security Committee.

Hon. Ricardo S. Martinez, Chief District Judge, will discuss the status of Social Security Appeals in Western Washington.

Hon. Morgan B. Christen from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, along with Paul Keller, supervisory staff attorney for the Ninth Circuit, will provide the Circuit’s view of social security appeals.

Acting Regional Chief Administrative Law Judge Scott Kidd, from the Social Security Administration Region X, will provide an overview of the processes and caseloads of the Office of Hearings Operations.

Finally, an important update regarding the recent changes to the regulations governing evaluation of medical evidence will be provided by Victoria Chhagan and Amy Gilbrough from Douglas, Drachler, McKee and Gilbrough, along with Martha A. Boden, Assistant Regional Counsel for Social Security’s Office of General Counsel.
