Summer Diversity Externship Program

The Western District of Washington is partnering with the Federal Bar Association for the Western
District of Washington to provide summer judicial externships to law students who bring diverse
perspectives to the legal profession as a result of their adaptability, cultural fluency, resilience, and life
experiences.

The application period begins on January 1, 2024 and ends on February 5, 2024. For more information, and to apply, please see here.

We provide a valuable link between the federal judges and lawyers who serve this District. Whether it is assisting in the development and revision of local rules to assuring that pro se civil litigants receive representation for meritorious claims, for over forty years the FBA-WDWA has worked closely with the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to improve the federal judicial process for the courts, and for lawyers and litigants.
