Description

Originally recorded September 25, 2025. The Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent (POWER) Act of 2018 was enacted to help survivors of domestic violence gain access to pro bono legal services. Join us for an informative presentation about domestic violence, including its impacts on Tribal communities. Chief Judge David Estudillo will discuss the importance of the POWER Act. Presenters will address a range of topics including criminal and civil practice in Tribal Courts, programs working to make legal services accessible to DV victims, and opportunities to provide pro bono legal services to underrepresented groups. This year’s presentation will feature speakers from the Tulalip Tribal Court Domestic Violence Prosecutor’s Office, Tulalip Office of Civil Legal Aid, and Legacy of Healing. This program was approved for 1.5 Law & Legal credits in Washington.
