MEMBERSHIP
The benefits of membership in the Federal Bar Association of the Western District of Washington include:
- Discounts on CLEs sponsored by the M3 FBA.
- Invitations to brown bag lunches (often with local federal judges) and our Annual Dinner.
- Other opportunities to work, interact and socialize with judges and practitioners in the Western District.
- Opportunities to become involved with the M3 FBA’s ongoing efforts to improve the level of federal practice in this District, in direct partnership with the federal bench. For example, the M3 FBA has fifteen active committees on which members may serve.
- Opportunities to participate in a range of pro bono activities sponsored by the M3 FBA.
- Use of the attorney lounges in the U.S. Courthouse in Seattle and the U.S. District Court in Tacoma (which are open to all attorneys practicing before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington; and contain copiers, workstations for laptops, and telephone lines).
Membership Requirements:
Any person shall be eligible for regular membership if: (a) he, she, or they are (i) licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Washington, or (ii) licensed to practice law in any other state (or the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or any United States territory), and has his or her primary office within the Western District of Washington; and (b) he, she, or they a member in good standing of the Bar of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.
Any person shall be eligible for law student membership if (a) they are enrolled in the University of Washington School of Law, Gonzaga University School of Law, or Seattle University School of Law; or (b) they are enrolled in a law school located outside of Seattle but can demonstrate a connection to the Western District of Washington.
